our project
technology
is
an
essential tool that facilitates the work of people in all walks of life. Especially in the field of education, digital transformation and technological innovations are very important for teachers and students. According to the EU Digital Education Action Plan (DEP), successful digital education means better learning-teaching for everyone in the digital age. It is about creating opportunities and is a prerequisite for students to acquire the skills they need to be successful in today’s world. Therefore, teachers should be able to provide guidance regarding the use of digital technology. However, the reality in our schools is that some teachers need upskilling in this area in order to increase their digital competence. The needs of teachers were determined by the “Technology Use Situation and Attitude Scale” and the SELFIE tool applied in the partner schools. As a result of the survey, we have identified several areas in which our Adult Education teachers require improvement, namely the use of Web 2.0 and digital learning resources, the creation of quality classroom digital materials and the accurate knowledge of online safety.
We also analysed the time and activities related to the environment and fight against the climate changed and realized that there needed to be a substantial improvement in this area.
For the purpose of achieving these three objectives, we intent to use the Universal Design of Learning as a methodological framework because we understand it offers more flexibility and it better accommodates the need of adult learners, many of whom have different levels of educations, expectations and ways of learning.
